Integration
Build on thisflow with a simple API.
A small REST API with personal tokens: list, create, change and complete tasks from your own scripts.
Settings → API
What you can do with it.
Create in plain text
Send one line of text and it is read like quick add: “Send the invoice friday p1 #Finance” gets its date, priority and project.
Read your views
Fetch Today, Upcoming, Overdue, Inbox, Someday or everything, for one project or all, with a search.
Change and complete
Change a task's title, note, dates, priority, project, section or assignees, complete it or add a comment.
Set up
Ready in three steps.
- 01
Create a token
In Settings → API, name the token, for example “Claude on my laptop”, and choose Create token. Copy it now: it is shown only once.
- 02
Send it as a header
Send Authorization: Bearer and your token with every request to https://app.thisflow.com/api/v1.
- 03
Call an endpoint
Start with GET /api/v1/tasks?view=today. Tasks are addressed by id or by their code, such as WEB-12.
One request, one task.
The answer is the task as JSON: its code, project, dates, priority and a link that opens it in thisflow.
Endpoints in version 1.
Under https://app.thisflow.com/api/v1, with your token on every request. The same token works for the MCP server.
- GET /projects
- Every project you can see, the Inbox included
- GET /tasks
- view=today, upcoming, overdue, inbox, someday or all; project, q, completed, limit
- GET /tasks/:idOrCode
- One task with its subtasks and comments
- POST /tasks
- { text, projectId?, note?, parentId? }: text read like quick add
- PATCH /tasks/:idOrCode
- Title, note, priority, dates, someday, project, section, assignees
- POST /tasks/:idOrCode/complete
- Complete a task, or reopen it with { completed: false }
- POST /tasks/:idOrCode/comments
- { body }: add a comment
- POST /overdue/move-to-today
- Move every overdue task to today
Permissions and security
What flows, and what stays.
What flows
Only what is asked for: projects, tasks with their subtasks and comments, and the changes that are made. A token sees exactly what you can see in thisflow.
What is stored
A hash of the token, its name and when it was last used: the token itself is shown once and cannot be read back. It has your roles, so on a project where you are a viewer it cannot edit.
How to revoke
Choose Revoke next to the token in Settings → API. Anything that uses it stops working at once. Deleting your account removes your tokens too.
