Integration

Turn Slack messages into tasks.

Type /thisflow to add a task, save any message from its ⋯ menu, and hear about mentions where you already are.

Settings → Slack

What you can do with it.

  • /thisflow

Type /thisflow Call the supplier tomorrow 15:00 p2. It is read like quick add and lands in your Inbox.

  • Save as task

From a message's ⋯ menu, choose Save as task. The message becomes a task as written, with a link back to it.

  • Mentions and assignments

When someone mentions you or assigns you a task, the thisflow app sends you a Slack message. Turn it off per Slack workspace.

Set up

Ready in three steps.

  1. 01

    Add thisflow to Slack

In Settings → Slack, choose Add to Slack and allow it in your Slack workspace. Whoever adds it is connected right away.

  2. 02

    Connect your account

Teammates type /thisflow once. The app answers with a link that works for 30 minutes; open it and choose Connect.

  3. 03

    Add your first task

Type /thisflow and a task in any conversation, or choose Save as task on a message.

A task without leaving Slack.

The command is read like quick add, so dates, times, priorities and #projects come along. The answer, visible only to you, links straight to the task.

Permissions and security

What flows, and what stays.

  • What flows

Only what you send: the text after /thisflow, or the message you save, with its link. thisflow cannot read your channels: it asks Slack only for its command and for sending messages.

  • What is stored

The Slack workspace's name and id, the app's token (encrypted), and which Slack user is connected to which thisflow account. Every request from Slack is checked against its signing secret.

  • How to revoke

Choose Disconnect in Settings → Slack, or remove the app in Slack. Deleting your thisflow account removes your Slack connections too.
